a double needle ~ triple straight stitch inspiration and a prayer

hi friends ~

just three little words… “triple straight stitch” can triple your joy, and multiply into a big impact…

a sweet friend who had taken my collage class, recently brought her “a heart to give” collage pillow top to show me one day as i was working at the shop…

and oh my.

how she blessed my socks off!

bless her heart.

you see, my friend recently lost her husband… and this was one way she has chosen to honor the memory of her best friend, and to help work through some of her grief, too…

this is “howie’s pillow.”

and i cannot really say  {in words} how honored ~ how blessed ~  i was to be a tiny fractional part of her processing through this tough time in her life, and to witness her courage and her heart ~ to honor her sweet husband.

joan chose to quilt her collaged pillow top with two different colors of thread, in a double needle, and then engaged the “triple straight stitch” functionality from her machine…

dear friend.  may you know {more} of the gentle healing touch as you curl up in the palm of your Father God’s loving hands… as you let Him hold you in your lonely hours… may He always be your solace, the complete source of your strength, and the One to whom you look to, and receive… grace and love to face each day in this season of grief.  May you ever be thankful for all the love and sweet life’s joys you had with your love.  i am so very thankful for you, for the joy of our friendship, and the privilege of knowing you.  God Bless You and keep you.  amen.

  1. My mom passed away Saturday. I was mindlessly scrolling around pinterest and saw this triple stitch. I read about the construction then the prayer at the end. Thank you for being obedient. Its the small thing you did 4 years ago that comforted me today.

    1. Cathy, that makes my day; it fortifies my faith, and affirms the Holy Spirit’s voice and guidance that is power in all things for all time, for all of us who believe in Jesus, Risen and Coming Again!! I’m glad it comforted, and thank you for reaching out to tell me so. God Bless, and may we live a life abundant as Jesus died to give us. To Him be the Glory. Hugs—Leslie
