a few quilted beauties of the falls quilt quild show ~ 2015

hi everyone ~ happy may!

our local quilt show happens every other year here, and this year… was my first appearance at the show!  i know.  that’s just how life rolls sometimes!

i was thrilled to see my friend toni’s “zebra quilt” displayed, and awarded a top ten, and a blue ribbon, too!

toni also made this hand-colored christmas snow globe quilt, from the crab apple tree patterns.  lovely hand embroidered, and the color is added with simple fabric crayons.  so charming!

and a few shots of the artsy quilts in the quilt guild’s challenge this year of “art with a twist.”  such very cool works of art!

and a large beaded bold flower in this beauty:

clusters of beads in the center:

and mr. izaak made his first show appearance, joined by rocky, too!

and the colorful threadplay in this floral adds lovely textural interest, and what fun!

much of this was done in metallic thread, too.  definitely a labor of love, and so pretty in person!

and this stunning beauty, a wedding ring.  quite gorgeous.  my favorite “big quilt” of them all.  i just love the way the color fades in and out… beautifully accomplished.

although all were taken with my phone, i so appreciated the color, beauty and sweet styles of so many quilts.  hope you enjoyed them a bit, too!

i’m diligently working on more collages, and more classes!  and…  a new collage heart pattern i’ve developed is coming soon, and i’ve created another version of my new painted pony pattern, which i have shared on facebook {marveles art studios} and instagram {marveles}!  just in case you’d like to check it out.

i’m off to teach another full weekend of collage!  yippee skippee!
blessings,
xo
