Beauty for Ashes

These necklaces are made by another Etsy Artisan, “Grace Tags.”

Grace Tags

I also enjoy her website and blog. The link:  GraceTags.com. And… they were 40% off!  So I took that as incentive to stock up on my gifts to have on hand at home.  You can also find Grace Tags on facebook… that is where I saw the sale, which was 24 hours only. I noticed just recently sge had another 24 hour sale for 45% off, and has added new things to her shop. And some custom order work, too.

I’m not a huge fan of mall shopping in general, and I like the convenience of shopping online.  But I especially don’t like ‘wondering, what-to-buy, kind of shopping’ … especially at the last minute.  So this was good for me!
Also, one of my favorite ‘waiting-for-spring’ things to do, is to buy grocery store ‘fresh flowers’ and photograph them. I had recently bought a pretty pink bunch of tulips, so when the necklaces came in the  mail, I thought it would be really fun to practice my budding photography skills.  So for $10, I had a great time for several days playing with their arrangement, in various lighting situations.  Grace Tags had a contest, too, so it was fun to see what I could come up with.  I didn’t win, but then again… I think… I did!  It was fun, and rewarding, because I learned a few things.

Changing focus from the center of the focus points is very interesting to do.  And sitting on the floor so I could get different angles with the light reflecting not only from the window, but from the crystal Cross. These are high resolution photos – at 18 megapixels, so I can hopefully do some editing… and learn more.

The one below is my favorite, so far.  What do you think?  Which is your favorite, if you have one?

EnJOY your weekend!
In His Grace,
Leslie

  1. You are honing your skills for sure. I like the last one. It is a doozy.
The tags are special but I already made a foray into etsy with ribbons and cords! LOL

  2. I like the 2nd last one. Flowers are so cheery this time of year. I picked up roses today that I wanted for Valentine's day. I don't usually care to have roses but they were an assortment of brilliant pink and orange, a favorite combination for me.
