The days are getting shorter; before I know it, it’s dark outside! It’s always bittersweet to see the summer days end, but I know I can look forward to a season I have always loved. Autumn Days. Bittersweet… like good chocolate!
Peeking around the corner will be a new season. Fluttering leaves with amazing color, crispy cool mornings and warm sunshine afternoons! That sweet apples-in-the-air aroma, home cooking, and football! And… more sewing! And above all, I am thankful. For all of you, for our blessings in life; our friends, a home, our jobs, families and our country… and the freedom we enjoy like nobody else in the world.
The Bittersweet Give-A-Way!

3. Become a follower to my blog, leaving a comment that you did so for an extra chance to win.
4. Limit three comments per person.
5. Give-A-Way ends Sunday evening, September 4th, at midnight. Winner’s names will be posted Monday, September 5th.
6. One prize per person.
Here are the four prizes:
BIRCH LEAVES. Beautiful Leaves on my hand-dyed fabric, stenciled using Paintstiks. Cut it up for patchwork, fuse it; cut out the leaves for a project of your own, (like “Blue Autumn”) or make it into a wall hanging… or whatever you want! Apron? Great embellishment for a jean jacket, too… I loved the colors, and it was lots of fun to play with. I hope the winner will love it too. It’s about 9″x10″ or so.
A postcard. In honor of our gorgeous summer, from my “Jamaican Me Crazy” linoleum hand-carved stamp. Signed by me.
A new cone of RAZZLE DAZZLE thread. I hope you will be as “bedazzled” with this lovely thread as I am! This is a purple color with lime green in it. Beautiful!
The Grand Prize: BITTERSWEET. The new book from Nancy Halvorsen with a big splash of Autumn-themed goodies to create for the fabulous season around the corner! These are patterns that are fun and easy to make. They make for great backgrounds to practice your free motion color, and more!
I am thankful for all of you.
GOD BLESS.

Leslie,
I don't remember how I found your blog (just last week), but I'm so glad I did. I love your sense of color and design; your free-motion quilting is inspiring. I signed up right away to become one of your "followers" and look forward to seeing more of your work!
Your tutorials on tension, threads, and couching have been so helpful….like having a personal teacher in your own home…much appreciated!!
I am a new follower of your blog!
My favorite part of Autumn is the changing of the leaves. It is especially wonderful to experience the fall leaves in the mountains – very dramatic!
Two blogs I can never miss daily is your blog for inspiration and Leah Day's blog http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.com/
for learning new designs for free motion!! Quilters all over the world are grateful for your talents!
I have just become a follower but to be honest I can't remember how I got here!
My favourite football team is the Saskatchewan Roughriders! Living in Montana you likely know where they are.
oh, forgot. I came by way of 3CS and I do like the individual seasons for their change of pace but falls have been especially lovely and long lately so we get that extra ummph to finish up before the white stuff and prime sewing time.
beautiful pictures. I'm following you cause you share the how to's. Thank you!
Ah, Fall. It is indeed my favorite season for many reasons. But, for me, the best part of fall is football season! I can feel the excitement in the air as the NFL season is set to begin – on my birthday this year, September 8. Love your blog and love your tutorials. Thanks for sharing with us.
I would love to take a class from you!
I have even a follower for a few months and you are on my blog roll.
Leslie, thanks for the opportunity to win one of the prizes! I love fall! For me it means delicious Tehachapi apples, that crispness in the air, the first fire in the fireplace, and watching my Green Bay Packers!
I tweeted your giveaway here: http://twitter.com/#!/Lealee33/status/109836545283985412
I'm a new follower!
My Favorite thing abour fall is pulling out all my cozy sweaters!
What a beautiful blog. I find working social media difficult, however, through the Quiltsy Team I am getting better. I love your layout, work and wish you the best with your teaching. I'll be tweeting you under "TessieTextile" and posting to my FB page, TessieTextile. Esty store is also TessieTextile. Kindest regards from a Sister in Christ.
I can't remember how I lucked out by finding your blog, but it has been over a year. I log in every day and sometimes more than once, hoping to find new inspirations. Your photography and quilts are amazing. I love this blog!!
OH, and I did post this on my face book page, Thanks Leslie this is fun! Joanie
I love to watch & feel the Leaves Dance. It is as though they have waited all spring and summer, patiently gazing from on high, every now and again they trill with a summer breeze, and then at along last the wait is over. They break free and dance through the sky, glorious reds & gold. Each gust of wind is their friend, as they are picked up again and again, to twirl with abandon. Joanie – Love love love your blog! & I have no idea if I did this correct.
Your in my feed list, so I guess that means I follow you, right? But I usually check your blog before I even check my feeds.
I did blog your giveaway: http://freemotionquiltingadventures.blogspot.com/2011/09/fall-giveaway.html
Fall- No more AC (hopefully) hearing the birds chirp through the open windows, the orangey-ness of the afternoon sunlight. And longer nights hopefully mean more sleeptime for the kids but I'm not counting on that one! 🙂
Fall, what's not to love about it?
Clear blue skys, no humidity, sitting in the warm sunshine, taking a walk in the leaves,
color bursting everywhere, camp fires,,,,,,
I follow your feeds and also have your blog in my favorites bar.
Hope everyone has a super weekend!
