I’m a tad late with posting about my latest pattern design… but nonetheless, it makes me Happy Happy! A bit of inspiration, inspired by our late-appearing spring here in Central Montana. Regardless, I am elated to see it arrive, and this pattern reflects that joy!
Three whimsical tea cups, stacked upon one another in complementary tones and patterns, present a charming and *happy* array of pretty flowers.
The pattern is called “Happy Cups” and available here in the website’s shop {$14} in the pattern section, and also on Etsy which makes it a bit easier to order if you are an international customer. {pssst….I love to add extra goodies to my paper patterns!}
There’s a fun detail of what is called “foiling” as you may have noticed around the outside edge of each cup, as well as a silver foil around the black words. To achieve the dark black outline, and silver accents I used a product called “Deco Foil” by iCraft–made by Thermoweb. It’s so Fun! SUPER Easy to do. I also used their brand of glue, and truly — it’s a piece of cake. Basically you apply the glue where you want it, leave it as it lays, either in a straight line, or smudge it with your finger {it’s also water soluble} and let it dry til’ it’s clear & tacky. Apply the foil, pretty side face up, and rub the foil… pull it up, and prepare to be dazzled by the… well, dazzle!
My pattern does include instructions about this product, and you can always check out multiple videos on YouTube, and the Thermoweb website, too. I LOVE the texture and depth of perception the black adds to the cups! And I especially like how rustic it is, as a nice textural contrast to the cups. I found it in the paper crafting section at Hobby Lobby, and also online of course.
Add a pretty black scallop at the base, and pre-fused newspaper print {using Steam a Seam Lite 2}, at random angles, some fused word text fabric… and more deco foil in bright silver and it’s a happy piece indeed!
Finished size: 18 x 27″.
Thanks for coming by! EnJoy your day… And have yourself a cup {or three} of happy!
