Hello!
I’m really having a lot of fun with my newest pattern! I’ve been experimenting with a couple different placemat style options in my studio, and there’s so many styles, colors, and themes to play with for sewing up this sweet placemat pattern. I think that’s the hardest part! Deciding. But once the decision is made, it comes together really quickly!
You may recall in an earlier titled: “B is for Beautiful” that I was in charge of stuffing denim pockets with red paper napkins for a wedding reception this summer… and that led to “Jean Pocket Placemats!” Just goes to show that the simplest of things can be quite inspirational, and you just never know when they’re going to morph into something… well, new! And yet… old! Shall we say… timeless, even?
So today I’m showing a couple more ideas as well as how the placemats look when styled in a table setting. These placemats are so durable… and meant to be used! Which is exactly the words of advice I gave my darling daughter-in-law and son when I made a set for them featuring their new “Grout Lodge” dinnerware! They were home from Seattle for Thanksgiving, and so we discussed color options and I sure enjoyed making something for her dishes that they both love. What gives them a little more “table appeal” is the use of the Carhartt recycled pocket in gray! Perfect!!!
And of course, then the classic Christmas look… how I love using word labels on these!
EnJoy the possibilities and make them one-of-a-kind for your table!!
The other really fun detail for me personally… is the use of a hand dyed fabric from Vicki Welsh, that perfectly enhanced the dinnerware. Beautiful!!
and just for fun… like a pug on a rug! This is the kids’ dog, Mr. Stanley! He is adorable, and such a sweet soul. Talk about photogenic!
So do you think you’d make some of these for the holiday? Or a special occasion? Or perhaps for a wedding gift?! Let’s do ALL of it!! Merry Christmas!
Blessings, and thank you for coming by, always.
