The Jetsons Art Quilt!

I grew up in the 60/s and 70’s…. and perhaps some of you will know or at least recognize the title from the cartoon:  “The Jetsons!”
I purposely created this piece to be able to show students a sample of using paintstiks and that it can be as simple as you want to make it!
In this piece, I took a basic circle stencil, for some very easy round shapes that make a great exercise to practice your free motion skills on too!
And so…
the resulting shapes came out very space-like, unintended as they were!
And when it was done, it sure was a reminder of the fun, whacky, zany world of …
George Jetson!

This is a small quilt; maybe about 12″x12″, but large in FUN.  What a great way to practice for quilting with multiple types of threads, playing with tension…
…different stitches just … because… you CAN!

You just never know what surprises you might find when you start playing… and you may find that your experiment will take you to
“infinity and beyond!”
(I love Buzz Light Year!)
