A MarveLes Day!

Sunday was the Reception for my Quilt Show at Liberty Village Arts Center in Chester, MT, and a MarveLes day!

My Sweetest Guy In The World and I started down the road, heading north (90 miles one way!)  This is taken near Ft. Benton.  It was earlier in the morning, and it was a PERFECT Fall morning.  We stopped at the Missouri River Overlook, to snap a few!

I tried playing a bit more with some of the settings of my new Canon camera… and I love the blurry feel-softening of this picture below… but it’s not quite ‘on target’ the way I think I’m supposed to do it.  Living… and learning.  Now that’s a good shift, as I see it!

Look Ma!  No WIND!  Look at the beautiful river bottom with harvested fields, and yet green from the irrigation, too.  A beautiful study of contrasts.

We had good time soaking in the sunshine for a few moments of stretching and gazing into the BIG SKY.

Then on to the class “Paintstik Pizaaz.”  This is an adorable jean jacket … in 18 mos size!  It was made by beautiful friend, Lori Lyders for her granddaughter.  Isn’t it sweet?  Well, maybe you can’t tell from the photo, but it is truly very cute.

And a final parting shot of Lori, myself, and my former art teacher, Katie Twedt of Rudyard MT.  Who knew (well, God did)… that we have a sweet relationship more than 30 years later.  It’s been one of the biggest blessings of my ‘art career’ and both of these ladies have graced me with their kindness, support and encouragement.  I LOVE YOU BOTH!

These two ladies in particular work tirelessly, dedicating many hours to supporting the Arts in a small little prairie community on the Hi-Line in a rural setting.  Don’t they just SHINE?!

And a GREAT BIG SHOUT-OUT to all the folks of my hometown, who came to say “Hi” to me, and view the quilt show.  It was an honor for me to be there!

For the next month, the Triangle Squares Quilt Guild will be displaying their quilts at Liberty Village Arts Center.  Then, in November and December, Katie Twedt, Paper Artist Extradordinaire will be displaying her goodies.  I hope, if you are ever in the area, you will visit the Center.  They are open Tues-Friday, 12:30-4:30 pm.

THANK YOU ALL!  I am truly blessed.

  1. What a great setting. I like that fuzziness in your 3rd photo and the colour of your pretty hair. Great opportunity for you and lovely to share with friends.
