Painting Fun In The Sun

MarveLes Art Studios Blogs, Mixing It Up 3 Comments

Saturday was the day to be outside and for painting and stamping fun!  This is my first try with sun printing, using Setacolor paints.

I collected all my big stencils.  Some foamie flowers I had on hand… and a paper lace doilie.

And I began by spritzing the fabric with a little bit of water.
Then using a foam brush, and just painting, mixing, and blending.  I laid the stencils and goodies on top… and waited.  (That’s the hard part!)

Love the results!

I let it dry in the sun, and in less than an hour, the print was made.  Really fascinating, and I’m happy with the experimentation so far!

  1. Wowzers! I think sun printing is gonna be a homeschool activity soonest. I already have some sunprint paper for the kiddos. What's the resultant 'hand' of the fabric w/ Setacolor?
