A Play In Progress…

Play a little.
Laugh a little.
Do this every day.

 Feathers.

 Sparkle and Shine.

A hand dyed and painted piece of fabric.

Lime Green.  Periwinkle.   Aqua.

Inch by inch. Thread by thread. Stitch by Stitch.

Free motion couching.  You knew that was coming!

Solid polys for now.  I’m using from the Art Studio 40 wt polyester by Ricky Tims, from Superior Threads.

Razzle your world! (Razzle Dazzle thread by Superior/Ricky Tims)

 Texture.

Leftover bits from “Summer Shimmer.”  If you have been reading the blog for awhile, you may remember this piece.  If not, you can view it by clicking here.

 Radiance.

 A touch of elegance.

Here’s the ‘big picture’ of my progress on this piece.

And that is how I start.
What do you think of it so far?  I’m contemplating my next stitching ideas.  I can tell you I am thinking of a bit more Shine.
Perhaps… some beads.
More feathers?  Flowers?  Swirls?
Hmm.
Percolating.
Hope you will be SHINING
no matter what you do,
or where you are.
Laugh.
Play!

  1. You've done it again! I'm feeling like I'm in danger of doing a little hero worship. Such beautiful colors, cool stitching, yummy threads. You inspire me so much! To play, shine, try new things. I finally used my paintstiks for the first time last night. I think I told you about getting them at least a month ago. And I just ordered some thready bling from Superior today. Now I just need you to come over and kick me in the pants and make me actually use the paints! OK, so 1800+ miles is a bit far….

  2. I just love your work. It's amazing what your creative mind thinks up, do with threads and fabric. I always look forward to your posts….. Cathy
