A Pop of Pink ~ Hand Dyed Tablerunner

Leslie McNeil Art and Collage Quilts 2 Comments

Hi there!

This sweet table runner…

It’s really quite the combo of yummy, and  summery bold color.  Yay!  I even dyed the velvet fabric for the flower centers myself.  The rest of the hand dyed fabrics came from one of my favorite artists, Miss Vicki Welsh, as I have spoken of so often in my works.  Although I have been delving into modern fabric styles, the hand dyed will always have my heart!  I posted about the humble beginnings of this MarveLes original, back last summer… you can more all about it — click here if you wanna!

I took those three blocks and it became this runner.  I quilted it with a variegated YLI thread in greens this time around.  I also began with a tiny, tiny stipple stitch around the previously trapunto-quilted pink petals.  Then I graduated to a smaller feather motif.  I  do L O V E the green thread on this background.  And really, how can I ever say that I would tire of a gorgeous pink and deep yellow greens with a hit of that vibrant aqua blue saying “come hither!”  Not this time, for sure!

It’s just  P R E E T Y.
