Sketchbook Love ~

This is a sketch I made using Sakura Glaze Pens, and a new black outlining pen I’m trying out for the first time, a brand called “Artist Pitt Pens” from Faber-Castell.

Glaze pens leave a raised, shiny surface, and are also fun to blend with other colors, to make new depths and shades of other colors.  Just like thread sketching, and quilting!  I love the rich color, and of course, the textural dimension.  I, like many others, love to “color” and this gives me the perfect reason.  I also think this would be a nice inspiration for a lovely art quilt, perhaps…!

I really like the Pitt Pens; so much fun to play making lines… thinking of free motion quilting styles… playing with font types, my handwriting, thick and thin lines, and then adding highlights with white pens, n such fine things!  I’m hoping one of these days I’m going to have my designs made into a thermofax screen … or at least, I want to.  It’s on the “list!”

And…. the ideas keep on coming!  That’s what I really LOVE about sketching, playing with pens, colors and text.  It OVERFLOWS with more ideas, just like God’s great abundance, as usual!!

P.S.  I almost forgot.  Linking up with “Think on These Things” from “A Grateful Prayer and A Thankful Heart” today!

Have a great week!
