Sparkles!

Are you sparkling yet?

GLITTERING yet?

Make that “Glitter” thread by Superior.

And then there is another kind of glitter…the kind that comes in a little bottle full of magic liquid…

Iridescent Medium!  I LOVE this stuff.

Shake it up LOTS.  (That’s where I burn lots of calories – just kidding; it amounts to about 2 calories, maybe!) Then I pour a little dablette (that’s my new word of the day) … pour it on a tray-palette, dilute it with water (I use my spray bottle).  Then paint it on the postcard printed fabric.  Let it dry!  Then ooh and aahhh…

I bought my bottle at Michaels.  It is meant to be mixed with paint, too, which I love to do!  I imagine it would wash out quite easily if the postcards were to be washed… but that isn’t an issue is it?!!!  LOVE the effect.  No glue, no sticky fingers.  Easy as pie!

Christmas postcards… on my ‘to-do list’ and in the pile to layer up, and free motion quilt.

That’s all I got for ya today.   Remember… all comments still count for the weekend giveaway!

Have a great rest of the week!
Leslie

  1. Everyone; thank you for the comments! I thought I would also let you know this product does not stiffen the fabric in any way that I've determined. It's supple and soft… and so easy to apply, with or without.. paint! YAY!

  2. Wow, I'm in awe of your sparkle and stitching. I need to pull out my Razzle Dazzle and glitter and try to spark up my quilting.

  3. Leslie, another beauty, love the new way to add sparkle, I always "sparkle" for days, after I do the glue method, seems I get it everywhere. As always you added sparkle and sunshine to my day.

  4. Hi Leslie

  5. That looks like fun stuff (iridescent medium). I have one granddaughter that would paint it on everything as she loves "bling".
