Spring. Birdies. Sweet Music and Apple Blossoms everywhere! That was the inspiration for this quilt design. While we wait a little while yet for blooms in the apple trees, the birds are singing sweetly every morning, and that is a sweet gift in itself! May we greet every morning just like they do–with a “sweet tweet!”
The pattern features full size, reversed line drawings for the right-facing bird as well as the left-facing ones. Have fun creating this collage with lots of different scales of flowers, and a bright, happy sun and rays. Simple quilting–just rays coming from the sun… and a small stipple in the floral sections, and edgestitch around the birds, branches and musical notes.

Thank you so very kindly, Linda! This was inspired by a former high school art teacher and dear friend of mine, who passed away a few years ago. Her last name was “twedt” and I loved thinking of her as I created this piece.
