hi there ~
i love simple piecing, with lots of punches of color and pattern! that’s… ah… like stating the obvious, i know. but what i love is using what i have… and loving what i use, too. it was pure delight to dig in, press, cut and piece these simple strips, cut in less than an hour on my accuquilt Go! cutting system, and with two basic dies; 2.5″ strips, and the 2.5″ square. easy peasy. and i’m lovin’ the summer time stitchin’ of course!
this pattern is by aardvark quilts and it’s called “deck chair” ~ and because i wanted to make a larger quilt, instead of the 2″ strips it called for, i used the 2.5″ so it will be a lovely bed quilt size for sure. i hung this baby up on the line out in the yard but oh my it would have been great fun to photograph it on the lake, too! maybe i’ll have a chance when it’s quilted. so here’s a few images of it’s glowing summer time fun beauty from the line in my yard:

all done with kaffe fassett florals {yes, i have a great selection these days!} and i particularly love the outside border of the large purple and turquoise mum… and the little squares were cut from solid kaffe shot cottons, too for the nice little spark of solid color.
it was a fun, super fast pattern to make and easily could have been smaller or larger too. i’m looking forward to quilting this up on the longarm with some wool batting!
blessings,

Ooh. You have a cutting machine? It beats buying precuts! This one is lovely and reminds me of the beach for some reason.
Oh what fun!
