hi everyone ~
big sheets of white, blank paper can be intimidating. and practicing in my newest {big} moleskine watercolor journal has been really helpful to me in overcoming that hurdle.
it is also helpful that i am still {very much} fascinated with feathers, so these sketches and watercolor plays have been a fine wintery study. i’ve spent happy time researching, pinning, and studying their form and shape. and as you know by now, i also take a great deal of pleasure in adding microbeads … and {ya know once you make a mess with them… you may as well keep going} lol
i’ve completed three of these original watercolors on 9×12″ pieces of strathmore watercolor paper. this paper is called “cold press” which means it has a rougher surface than “hot press.” recently, i was able to order some hot press, so I’m anxious to try it and compare.
it’s my hope to become more adept with watercolors… and learn to be subtle. sometimes not. but it surely a process I’m soaking up!
i’ve {bravely} listed them in the etsy shop:

{look ma ~ no beads on the last one!} lol
and the awesome thing about this creative process, is that it helps me memorize scripture, or at least, put a picture on it! {just love His words to us}
“he will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” ~ psalm 91:4
may you know the wonder of feathers {and more}
blessings
