sweet, sweet montana summer.   how i loved having you.  i hate to see you go!

everywhere i look… feel, or sense in the coolness of our evenings now, and watching the leaves start to turn ~ summer is beginning it’s goodbyes, and fall is determinedly peeking it’s way into the montana landscape everywhere.  i have to say it always grieves me a little bit to see the summer end… but how i love our glorious fall season too.  bring it on. i love fall {too!}

every picture brings gratefulness, and i am thankful to have gathered more sweet memories from the friends, family, and sweet montana landscapes of this summer season…

here are a few of my favorite photographs i’ve taken of our lovely summer paths and back roads this season. can’t help but think of the song and the lyrics from “this land is your land” {a campfire fave from my youth} ~ here’s the main chorus! bet ya know it, too ~  sing along!

“This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me”

As I was walking a ribbon of highway
I saw above me an endless skyway
I saw below me a golden valley
This land was made for you and me

The sun comes shining as I was strolling
The wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling
The fog was lifting a voice come chanting
This land was made for you and me…

the song is a classic, but this land we live in is truly an amazing gift, made by God just for you and me.  may we treat it as such, and enjoy all the splendor and majesty of a God who loves us and created this land for us.  in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. Beautiful collection of photos, Leslie and just the right song to go with them! We Canadians have our own version of that same folk song, written in the mid 1950’s. It never fails to stir the soul.
