I experimented with a new recipe while we were at the lake — “Watermelon Granita!”
Cut up 1/2 of a watermelon. Put it in a blender. Watermelon takes alot of space, but it blends up super easy. Add juice of two limes. Couple tablespoons sugar. Blend. Pour into 9×13 pan. Freeze couple hours. Stir it, chop it, scrape it. Freeze some more. Plop it into some fancy martini glasses. See the real recipe and cool photos at The Pioneer Woman website here.
Uh, oh, we didn’t have the prettiest glasses at the cabin.
Do we care? Nope!
It was Perfect Refreshment out on the dock for a hot summer afternoon.
FYI it’s not mandatory that you hold your pointy finger like Lisa!?
Light, lake-mountain breezes. Bright shiny sun. Beautiful water. Great company. A good book!
Icy cold goodness.
Make some today! I placed the remainder of the granita into a freezer bag, sealed it, and put it back in the freezer for another hot day. The kids will love to help make it… and eat it!
EnJOY.
